Densil Allen is a veteran producer of national and international
broadcast/cable television news programming, documentaries,
and special events. He started his career as a program film editor
with the Metromedia Broadcasting Corporation. Following a stint with United Press International,
Allen
joined with two other partners in forming ARC Productions,
an independent producer of medical videos, and later served as news and documentary producer
for Metromedia Broadcasting, now the Fox Television
Network. As News Director for BizNet, the broadcast
division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC,
he debuted numerous business oriented television programs,
including the internationally syndicated First Business program,
satellite seminars and hundreds of hours of special event
programming.
Nominated for more than two dozen EMMY awards,
he was voted into the prestigious Silver Circle of the
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1991. His program credits range from
social and cultural documentaries, such as The Making of a
Diplomat and VD: The Silent Epidemic to sports, the
environment, and breakthrough medical innovations. One of the
early users of a fiber-optic light source for his cameras,
he was co-producer, writer, and editor of The Inner Woman,
an Atlanta Film Festival medal winner, which focused on the
pioneering laparoscopic surgery procedures of Drs. John Marlow and Thomas Steptoe.
Other television and video credits include more than two
dozen business and sports documentaries, and scores of long running,
internationally syndicated television news programs,
videoconferences, and special events.
Densil Allen is the founder
and currently a principal partner of Miramar Media, LLC,
Washington, DC.
